Google Sandbox difficulties & techniques to overcome

Has your site ever been the victim of Google sandbox effect? At times, people get confused that their sites have been sandboxed, but in real, their sites might have been dropped in ranking a bit. Here, two techniques can be useful. These two methods are:

  1. Check your website in Google's search results.
  2. Analyze the Google toolbar.

When a user types a query for searching into the Google Toolbar's search box, the user will be provided a list of useful suggestions based on that search query as a result. Instead of any query, if you type the title of your website and if your website has already been indexed in Google, then the title and a short description will appear as a result. While searching your site through Goggle toolbar if you find the tool bar grey then you are banned by Google. In SEO terminology, this is called as “Grey barred”. Primarily, three unethical techniques are responsible for the sandbox effect:

Hidden Text

Hidden text is a type of text that the web designers use while designing a webpage so that the texts in that web page won’t be easily readable. Hidden text is generally designed by setting the font color of the text similar to the background color so that text won’t be visible to the visitors until they select it.

Alt image tag spamming

This is another unethical technique that website owners apply in order to deceive the visitors. What the website owners do is they try to stuff keywords into their websites, allowing all the search engines to go through their keywords and restricting visitors to see any similarity in their websites. Using “Alt image” is a very good aspect, but the phrase or image you want to highlight through alt image should be accurate as the phrase or word refers to the perfect description of the picture. Otherwise, it would be considered as unethical.

Meta Tag Stuffing and Title Tag Stuffing

“Cramming” of keywords and title in the Meta Tag and Title Tag respectively is highly sensitive and Google can ban your site immediately. Some times, website owners repeat keywords too many times in the Meta Tag and Title Tag to attract high traffic. The result of such activities is Google Sandbox Effect.

We have discussed a lot about Google’s Sand Box Effect. There are other unethical factors too which are responsible for sandbox effect. But successful website marketers always avoid all these unethical ways of getting quick ranking in SERPs. If you wish to be a successful website marketer then you have to do away with all these spam techniques to avoid your site getting banned by search engines.
