A *blog or Weblog is generally a journal available on the Web. The action
of updating and maintaining blogs is referred as blogging and a person
who keeps a blog is a blogger.

Blogs are frequently updated using software that allows the novice technicians to update and maintain the blog. It consists of dated entries arranged in reverse chronological order with the most recent post appears first and prominently.

Weblogs first emerge in the mid-1990s. It became very popular by the end of the century as simple and free publishing tool. Anybody with internet connection can publish its own weblog but the quality and content may vary since blogs may have anywhere from a handful to lakhs of readers.

Most of the weblog entries are brief and independent but few are explicitly or implicitly imaginary, though the standard type expectation is factual. Certain weblogs create larger structure for the description of individual posts by using a steady statute to restrain their structure.

Most weblogs use links liberally to allow the readers to pursue discussion between weblogs the links between entries on related topics. Readers can start from any tip of a weblog, viewing the most recent entries first and prominently, or moving to an older post via search engine or links from other site, often another weblog. So in a weblog, readers can move in several orders: chronologically, thematically, by following the links between the entries or by searching for keywords. Weblogs also usually include a blogroll that is a roll of links to other weblogs. Also several weblogs allow the readers to enter their remarks to individual posts.
